Clive Ansell

Head of Market Infrastructure and Technology, ISDA

Clive Ansell

Clive is currently the Head of Market Infrastructure and Technology at ISDA. He’s responsible for developing and administering ISDA’s strategy on market infrastructure, technology and operations, including the association’s engagement with new and existing technologies and solution providers.

Clive joined ISDA in 2008 with primary responsibility for equity derivatives and has had subsequent roles overseeing data and reporting implementation under EMIR and confirmation processing compliance as well as providing general trading and post trade processing support across all asset classes.

Before joining ISDA, Clive spent a number of years managing various confirmation teams across credit and interest rate derivatives at UBS, Morgan Stanley and HSBC.

Lee Braine

Chief Technology Office, Barclays

Lee Braine

Dr Lee Braine has a deep interest in technology innovation. His current focus is distributed ledgers, blockchain and smart contracts. He represents Barclays Investment Bank on several distributed ledger consortia and is the co-author of academic papers on smart contracts.

Lee’s background is in investment banking, clearing and settlement, stock exchanges, corporate banking, payments and wealth management. He has a PhD in Computer Science from University College London.

Karen Everingham

Karen Everingham

Karen was appointed Global Head of Fixed Income, Derivatives and Collateral Services in January 2018. She joined HSBC after 12 years at RBS/NatWest Markets where she was most recently Global Head of Operations and Transaction Management.

Having worked previously at Morgan Stanley, Merrill Lynch and West LB, Karen holds a wealth of experience from a variety of leadership roles across Financial Services.

Ian Cusden

Technical Architect – Distributed Ledger Technologies, UBS

Ian Cusden

Ian leads UBS’ technical exploration and development of Distributed Ledger Technology solutions, based out of the Level 39 FinTech accelerator in London’s Canary Wharf. Since 2002, Ian has worked at UBS in a variety of technology roles, and has spent the last seven years working in the UBS R&D function looking across a broad spectrum of technologies.

Ian’s earlier career had a deep focus on UBS’ software lifecycle management toolset, prior to which Ian worked as a systems/software engineer, for Ford and Delphi. He holds a Master (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Aston.

Andrei Kirilenko

Director of the Centre for Global Finance and Technology, Imperial College Business School

Andrei Kirilenko

Dr. Andrei Kirilenko is also a visiting Professor of Finance at the Imperial College Business School, and a Research Fellow in the Financial Economics Programme of the Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR). Prior to joining Imperial in August 2015, he was a Professor of the Practice of Finance at MIT Sloan and Co-Director of the MIT Center for Finance and Policy.

Before MIT, Andrei served as chief economist of the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) between December 2010 and December 2012. In 2010, he was the recipient of the CFTC Chairman’s Award for Excellence (highest honor). His scholarly work focuses on the intersection of finance, technology and regulation, and has appeared in a number of peer refereed journals and received multiple best paper awards.

Andrei received his PhD in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania, where he specialised in Finance.

Christopher D. Clack

Senior Lecturer, University College London
Joint Field Chief Editor, Frontiers in Blockchain

Christopher D. Clack

Christopher works at UCL, one of the world’s leading research universities, and is joint field chief editor of the research journal Frontiers in Blockchain. He has over 30 years research experience at UCL in modelling and simulation, programming languages, system architectures, genetic computation and financial computing. He has secured funds exceeding £4m for research, knowledge transfer and teaching. Chris has founded and led a series of highly successful initiatives at UCL and elsewhere, including the Thomson-Reuters Laboratory at UCL and the UK Financial Services Knowledge Transfer Network.

Chris holds degrees in Natural Sciences from Cambridge and Computer Science from UCL. In 2009, he was awarded the higher doctorate, Doctor of Science (ScD), by the University of Cambridge.

Jim Wang

Senior Engineer, REGnosys

Jim Wang

Jim has been developing the CDM model and its underlying Rosetta infrastructure with others at REGnosys, and as part of the ISDA CDM Design Working Group.

He’s a full stack engineer with experience in creating innovative front office workflow solutions and designing domain models to meet regulatory obligations in the financial markets space.

Jim has developed systems including venue connectivity, electronic pre-trade quoting, post-trade capture and real-time position keeping, for the Fixed Income division at Goldman Sachs.

Karel Engelen

Senior Director and Co-Head of Data, Reporting and FpML, ISDA

Karel Engelen

Karel is responsible for the further development and adoption of the FpML standard and more generally the use and development of data, data standards and related technology to increase the efficiency in derivatives markets at ISDA.

Karel’s current area of focus includes the development of product identifiers for derivatives and standardisation and representation of reference data. He’s a member of the ISO 20022 Management Group and chair of the ISO 20022 derivatives Evaluation Group. Previously he held leading roles in middle office, risk and IT in the financial industry.

Karel received a Master’s Degree in Applied Economics, Quantitative Computer Science from the University of Leuven, Belgium and a joint Master’s Degree in Economics and Marketing, magna cum laude, from the University of Turin, Italy and the University of Leuven, Belgium.

Rajagopalan Siddharthan

Business Architect, Barclays

Rajagopalan Siddharthan

Sid is a Capital Markets specialist and a member of the Business Architect group at Barclays. His recent activities include leading the internal adoption of distributed ledger technologies for derivatives processing. In addition he’s actively engaged on ISDA MITOC initiatives to define Common Domain Standards encompassing data and process elements for derivative products.

Sid’s background is in risk and product analytics with a focus on rates, credit and fund derivatives. He holds a Master’s Degree in Engineering Economic Systems from Stanford University.

Natalie Clareburt

Natalie Clareburt

Natalie has over 17 years of industry experience in Derivatives Technology, Operational and Regulatory change. Natalie has spent the majority of her career at JPMorgan and has also held roles at Lloyds Banking Group and Barclays.

She represents JPMorgan on the ISDA Market Infrastructure and Technology Oversight Group and is a member of the DTCC Deriv/SERV boards.

Sudhir Upadhyay

Engineering Lead, JPMorgan

Sudhir Upadhyay

Sudhir is part of JPMorgan’s Investment Bank’s Emerging technologies group. He’s focused on developing applications applying blockchain/distributed ledger and machine learning/cognitive technologies to different lines of business in JPMorgan. He has a diverse range of experience in investment banking – ranging from Trading and Risk Management platforms. Sudhir is also a part of Expert Engineers at the firm.

Prior to JPMorgan he was a principal engineer at BEA Systems where was primarily focused on performance engineering of large scale, enterprise, globally distributed systems.

Sudhir holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, India.

Jeff Bandman

Founder and Principal, Bandman Advisors, Ex-CFTC

Jeff Bandman

Jeff is Founder and Principal of Bandman Advisors, an advisory practice helping clients meet strategic innovation and regulatory challenges.

Jeff co-founded Global Digital Finance (GDF.io) to establish an industry-driven code of conduct for cryptoassets. He’s a Lecturer in Global Affairs at Yale. He’s on the Board of Advisors of Templum Inc. and iComply Investor Services, a RegTech Council member, and Regulation Mentor for Barclays Techstars. He’s Research Fellow of the Blockchain for Algorithmic Regulation and Compliance (BARAC) initiative.

He was a senior official at the CFTC from 2014-2017. As FinTech Advisor to Chairman Giancarlo, he was Founding Director and architect of LabCFTC. He was Special Counsel to Chairman Timothy G. Massad and led the CFTC’s Division of Clearing and Risk. He led the negotiations resulting in Clearinghouse Equivalence with the European Commission. Jeff has worked in the financial industry in New York and London as an attorney and business executive. Jeff led several market structure initiatives, and also rebuilt Cantor Fitzgerald’s market data business after the events of September 11.

Pierre Lamy

Co-Founder and COO, REGnosys

Pierre Lamy

Pierre is passionate about the standardisation and digitalisation of data and processes. He’s very involved alongside the REGnosys team in the CDM development, both the actual model and its underlying Rosetta infrastructure.

During his 20 years tenure in the Technology Division of Goldman Sachs in New York, Pierre was instrumental in the development of the ISDA FpML standard for OTC derivatives and chaired the FpML Standard Committee. He was also very involved in the global financial reform, leading Goldman Sachs’ technology response to the Dodd-Frank obligations and advising the CFTC as member of its Subcommittee on Data Standardisation and, subsequently, of its Technology Advisory Committee.

Pierre holds a PhD in International Economics from Sciences Po Paris.
