Judges
There will be a panel of four judges for the Barclays RepoHack 2023. The panel will assess the participants' technical solutions and final presentations.

Lee Braine
Managing Director, Chief Technology Office, Barclays
Lee Braine is a Managing Director in the Chief Technology Office at Barclays. He is the Distinguished Engineer for Advanced Technologies and his team drives Barclays technology engagement in distributed ledgers, smart contracts, digital currencies including central bank digital currencies, new post-trade standards, quantum computing and optical computing. He is a member of several industry committees including the Bank of England’s CBDC Technology Forum and ICMA’s FinTech Advisory Committee. He is the author of technology research papers and is a regular conference speaker. Lee’s background is in investment banking, clearing and settlement, stock exchanges, corporate banking, and payments. Lee has a First Class BSc and PhD in Computer Science from University College London.

Peter Left
Head of Digital and Markets Innovation, Lloyds Bank
Peter Left has over 18 years of Financial Markets experience in Treasury & Trading at Lloyds Banking Group. Peter started his career structuring, and then subsequently trading, derivative solutions. Recognising the increasing costs of derivatives on the balance sheet, Peter moved to managing the funding and capital that derivative products consumed. Before moving to Treasury, Peter ran Money Market and Repo Sales and Trading. In Treasury, Peter managed the Funding and Liquidity of the ring-fenced bank group and, from this role, led the thinking on Digital Money & Assets. Peter is now Head of Digital & Markets Innovation ensuring a robust business infrastructure and strategy compliant with the many variations of an increasingly digital and dynamic future.

Gabriel Callsen
Director, FinTech and Digitalisation, International Capital Market Association (ICMA)
Gabriel Callsen is a Director, FinTech and Digitalisation, at the International Capital Market Association (ICMA). He is responsible for ICMA’s Common Domain Model (CDM) project for repo and bonds and ICMA’s Bond Data Taxonomy (BDT), two key initiatives to support automation and interoperability in the international debt capital markets. He is secretary to ICMA’s FinTech Advisory Committee and DLT Bonds Working Group. He also represents ICMA at various international forums, including the Bank of England/FCA Data Standards Committee (DSC) and the Eurosystem’s New Technologies for Wholesale settlement Contact Group (NTW-CG). Gabriel has published various papers on FinTech, DLT, Big Data, AI, regulation and capital markets, and speaks regularly at industry conferences and educational events. Prior to joining ICMA, Gabriel worked for the European Commission and Tradeweb.

Minesh Patel
Chief Technology Officer, REGnosys
Minesh Patel is the Chief Technology Officer at REGnosys, an open-source FINOS contributor and owner of the Rosetta Platform used to develop the Common Domain Model. He is a hands-on technology leader with over 20 years’ track record of delivering innovative solutions at several tier-1 investment banks. Minesh started his career in finance in a front office developing risk attribution analytics, before moving into the distributed computing space delivering real-time risk and P&L at various tier-1 investment banks. Minesh brings expertise in cross-asset product development, risk analytics, commodity risk and trading software. He is working with the industry to develop the Common Domain Model and to deliver the Digital Regulatory Reporting program to transform post-trade reporting for the financial industry.
